Das Wort "Verzicht" ist schon die falsche Suggestion.

Dieses Wort bezog sich hier auf "von außen auferlegte" Normen bzw Disziplin; also in Zusammenhang mit Druck durch z.Bsp. religiöse Vorschriften usw. - also ohnehin schon falscher Beweggrund für ein Verhalten oder Verhaltensänderung.
